I will say that I don't read a lot of memoirs, especially if they are about people I don't know or haven't heard of before (no offense to this author). I also typically don't like when the First Impressions starts in the middle of the book. Is the beginning of the book not that interesting? It makes me a little suspicious.
That being said, this snippet was very sad and drew me in. The book descriptions details going through living in a cult and then escaping and living a life after having gone through something like that. That sounds very interesting and if the rest of the book's writing is similar to the First Impression snippet then I would really like to read more.
