I have actually already read this book, having borrowed an ARC copy. Would love to have my own copy as this author's writing so captivated me that I Googled to find out more. The writing is beautiful and touching which is all the more interesting given how difficult Mikel's life was. He sure has come a long way. His father and Bonnie's love come across well as does his mother's dysfunction. Such a well written memoir.
