I’ll be honest: I generally skip memoirs. I often don’t find the narratives in memoirs to be very sympathetic or compelling, and my attention tends to drift easily when reading them. That being said, this memoir is more like a novel than a stodgy memoir — from the lyrical prose to the cult plot, there’s a lot here to unpack and keep you turning the pages.
