So much nostalgia!
4.25 stars.
Holly Horror gave me so much nostalgia. It had Are You Afraid of the Dark vibes mixed with Goosebumps and Fear Street. It felt a little like a modern day Beetlejuice, but I enjoyed the fact that cell phones/technology and social media didn't completely take it over, so it still had vibes of the 90s mixed with a little Now and Then (movie) feels.
It had nice touches of horror mixed in with the spooky atmosphere and beautiful writing. I loved the supernatural aspects of the story, and enjoyed the mix of characters and slightly twisty plot. It was an easy, fast read and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next one!
Adding that even though a few weeks have passed by, I still have this one on my mind. It's not even that it was necessarily super fresh in the genre, but it was definitely memorable and enjoyable and I am dying for the next one!
