This story takes you down the roads of two characters. Holly, a girl who disappeared when she was 15, and Evie is a girl who has a connection to Holly. Evie is incredibly relatable. I appreciate how the story slowly reveals her past. It allows readers to question her choices and keep us hanging on both the plot, and her backstory. Evie has reasons for her decisions that are only revealed as the story processes. But that made me question every move she would make. It was very suspenseful! I love how Holly's person is discovered over time. I got an eerie feeling while reading because I would notice dramatic irony in the pages. This story is written very well and contains a lot of metaphors and symbolism that could be analyzed more deeply. (The Alice in Wonderland allusions! I need to understand them!) I know that if I went back to read again I could uncover another layer to the story that I didn't notice before. All through the second half of the book I knew there was more going on then what I was picking up on and I think that is so cool! This book was so easy to enjoy. It wasn't wordy or overly descriptive. I think that anyone could pick it up and enjoy it.

You can really tell that the author really planned this story out very well and really took the time to add depth to the characters and their lives. Fantastic, suspense filled novel.

My only comment is that...
(small spoiler warning)

I was expecting this to be a stand alone novel. It seemed so wrapped up with a bow during the last few pages. I was completely blindsided when the end consisted of the biggest cliff hanger.
