So, straight up, I stared at this cover for an obsessive amount of time. It is so beautiful and haunting, and filled with so many details once you look closely. Who thought pink could be so creepy?

Holly Horror has been on my to read list ever since I first saw THAT cover because I am a huge sucker for YA horror. I just cannot get enough and this book completely fit the bill. Holly Horror follows Evie, whose family recently moved into the Horror House where her distant relative, Holly, disappeared one night. Slowly, Evie starts to see and hear things and gets the sense that something is haunting her. I have to say that I certainly enjoyed this. The author does a great job of setting subtly creepy vibes from the beginning. The pacing isn't too fast and as the story went on, there was more to the mystery than I originally thought. Evie has a lot of baggage and you get to see some things from her past start to surface as she steadily descends into possible madness. There is also some clairvoyance brought into the story through Evie's aunt that was a nice added touch. The horror was well done and I found myself checking over my shoulders as I was reading. And the ending, I literally gasped! I loved it!
