I have never read anything by this author previously, but the cover art grabbed my attention immediately. It is gorgeous and perfectly creepy! The artwork continues in the book and it keeps that mood going. I remember Holly Hobbie as an old rag doll that was very popular back in the day, so the story line had my interest right away and I loved some of the smaller references contained within the story, such as Knickerbocker Road. I initially thought the writing was a bit simplistic, spelling things out for the reader that could be inferred, but as it went on I didn’t notice it any more. So, either it stopped or I was just so interested in the story itself that I no longer noticed. Either way, I found this First Impression to be engaging and I look forward to reading the rest of the story.
