This first impression surprised me in the best ways. The set up for a horror novel is well done, from the small town atmosphere, basically abandoned historical home with a tragic (if not murderous) past, so many unknowns by being new in town, as well as the foreboding atmosphere. This will be one to read with all the lights on and definitely not while alone.
