Clare's had her baby and Russ is fighting for the survival of the Millers Kill PD. Right where we left off. I like starting off with the previous (presumably unsolved) murders of young women dumped on a rural road in the area. Having Russ as a prime suspect ups the ante and undoubtedly prompts him to do a better job solving the most recent crime. All good, so far, including a pediatrician with weekend hours. We create the circumstances of the world we yearned for when raising our own kids.
Excellent premise for what looks like a first rate Adirondack noir mystery.
I'm not sure what else I can add. Having re-read the entire series recently only enhances my enjoyment of Spencer-Fleming's new book.
