I was instantly back in Millers Kill the moment I saw the cover. Ms Spencer-Fleming carefully constructs every word to elicit the right feeling for the scene. The visceral reaction I had when the 1950s sheriff is introduced is a perfect example of how the author tugs at the readers emotions. She has, as usual, set her readers up for a great adventure!
