Nothing very wrong with it, but lacks a distinctive quality.

The writing and characterization seem fine. The start is clear and comprehensive. My only problem is that the concept seems bland and done before many times and formulaic. There isn't anything in particular that grabs my attention as being original or unusual, it just seems like a solid but unremarkable mystery / crime novel that would blend in amidst many other titles. Same goes for the cover.
