The premise of this long-awaited new installment sounds very intriguing. Three murders, decades apart, appear to be related and Russ Van Alstyne has a personal reason for wanting to solve the latest one. As he copes with a new baby at home and pressure from a citizen's group to turn local law enforcement operations over to the state police, the stage is set for lots of action and plot twists.
Julia Spencer-Fleming has created two strong, complicated main characters in this series and it's always a treat to see what will happen to them next. I love the cover, which conveys a sense of foreboding, and I am waiting eagerly to see how the story unfolds.
