The upside: Each of the three storylines started their respective timelines off to a good start. Passing from one chief to the next with each connected to the previous storyline was an intriguing way to launch this book. I feel hooked.
After thinking about my review I would add that each of the timelines sounds real to the period. This is important to lend credibility to each acting chief of police. It also tells me that the writer put effort into his storytelling.
