Three separate cases, though years apart, are all connected by the similarity of the victims and the lack of evidence. The first is written off as a young girl who died of exposure. There is a suspect for the second murder, but no evidence to support his arrest. The third murder takes place in the present at a time when the police chief is facing the possible dissolution of the police department as a shift for the responsibility of enforcement may be passed to the state. The solution of the murders along with the return of Van Alstyne and Clare Fergusson is a treat for mystery lovers and I look forward to this release.
