I had not read Spencer-Fleming before, but I certainly will look for her books now. The vivid descriptions in the opening paragraphs of the sneak peek pulled me right in to the story. The mystery promises to be hard to unravel, and I have no doubt I'll like the main characters. Unlike some reviewers, I don't believe the plot is going to unfold through three timelines. It's clear, I think, that the first two cases were unsolved, and if we see anything of them it will be when the old files are pulled (as Harlene suggests) and we have a flashback.
