Sweet romance between two "late-blooming" teens.

I don't love calling teenagers late-bloomers, but I respect that that's how these two feel -- like their friends have all this dating and relationship experience and expertise, but they do not. So... why not fake date!?

Admittedly I'm a bigger fan of adult romance than young adult, but I'll read just about anything Rebekah Weatherspoon chooses to write. And I'm not at all mad I did! Weatherspoon's writing is conversational and so easy to read. I was easily pulled in to Bethany's perspective on page 1.

Bethany's confident generally, but has been stuck excelling on the basketball team when she'd rather be taking cooking classes. Jacob's a talented content creator for the yearbook and TikTok, but struggling to ace advanced film lab. I enjoyed watching these two not only build their connection, but grow as individuals as well.
