Bethany is a basketball superstar and her moms are former WNBA stars. However, she hates basketball and would rather cook. She’s also a bit awkward, even being dubbed “crybaby Bethany” because she tends to cry at the drop of a hat.

Jacob is a talented photographer and filmmaker, he’s also dating Bethany’s bff Sailor. But when he gets dumped by Sailor, Bethany and Jacob hatch a plan to fake date to put both of their reputations right.

This was a fun young adult romcom. I like the fake dating trope, even though you tend to know where it’ll end up.

I also liked all of the representation in the book. Bethany is a plus-sized black girl, Jacob is Asian, and some of their friends are non-binary.

Also, in regards to it being a romance book there are no steamy scenes. Sometimes even in YA you come across some steam. But this book is very wholesome and fun. Would recommend.
