The cover is cute and while I would normally like the story, I feel that the author just had to check off all the boxes to meet the LGBTQ+ requirements. I may be conservative but I'm generally forgiving of gay references. But this novel exuded everything -- Bethany's lesbian moms, plus size, marginalized characters, bi-racial characters, and a non-binary character.
I liked the writing style as it would fit with a select target audience. But I don't think all teens would appreciate the LGBTQ+ overload.
