I've never heard of "fake dating". The premise of 16 year olds worried about "having experience?" I guess since I was (and still am) someone no one was interested in dating, I'd identify more with a character with no romance and that that's okay rather than the "everybody should have a boyfriend/girlfriend already in middle school expectation."
