This seems like a cute coming-of-age YA romance. The main character is at that awkward stage of finally being ready to date, but living with the consequences of being a known late bloomer by her classmates and thus denied when she asks her crush to the upcoming dance. The writing style flowed nicely, and I felt the secondhand embarrassment from that key moment off the page. An inexperienced teen, seeking experience, and with a fake dating trope thrown in - this will be a cute read.
