What I liked best about the first three chapters of this book is how strong and independent Minerva, the main character appears to be. While you can tell she finds Chase, the love interest, attractive, she is not falling all over herself over him. Also, she is determined to find out why she was left a fortune by someone she never met instead of blindly accepting money just for her own gain.
