I don't normally pick up historical romance because sometimes it is difficult for me to get drawn into a romance that might include outdated tropes that can sometimes annoy me or keep me from truly liking and caring for the main characters. This latest by Hunter, though, has me hooked! The female lead is definitely a strong character - can't get much braver than bashing the guy who broke into your house over the head with a pan - and seems intelligent and saavy. The male lead was a bit more difficult to get to know from the pages provided, but he seems honorable and also a good judge of character with his skepticism and weariness. Can't wait to see how these two light up the pages together!
