This book was exactly what I expected it to be, a solid YA zombie apocalypse story with a sapphic romance between a kinda cured zombie and some who was deeply traumatized by zombies. This book delivered on that with enough twists and turns and emotional weight to keep things engaging. I loved the fight to find a new normal and nice past the trauma and I loved how complicated the character building and relationships were in the book
As for things I didn’t love, the books villains and actual plot felt secondary to me becouse what I cared about was the characters so the thriller stuff didn’t matter unless it enabled character building, the book was a bit fast paced and could have in my opinion slowed down a little bit to further build character dynamics and unfortunately the Tick was not the ominous name needed for a disease that caused the apocalypse
Over all I liked this book and was happy to read it
