In this post-apocalyptic story, there is hope for the world yet when an experimental treatment is developed to bring those infected with the virus back to humanity. It follows the story of Mara and her journey of integrating back into the now fractured society and her experiences while under the influence of the virus. I think this story has a lot of potential and it is an interesting take on zombies. I have always wondered what would happen if a treatment like this was developed and this book gives you a look into that. Mara seems like she could be a relatable (besides the having been a zombie bit) character. The world building and descriptions of the world’s state and how the citizens view this new treatment really paints an incredible picture in the mind. The dual POV really gives you great insight of both sides of the coin: the perspective of a character who has undergone the treatment and the old friend trying to deal with the new transition. I can see that this is going to be a fun read with lots of gore! I can’t wait for its release!
