This is a bit too young for me but I do love a good post apocalyptic story. It felt like something that could realistically happen. I stopped reading dystopian and post apocalyptic stories after the start of the pandemic because it all felt to real and scared me to pieces. But this one sounds really interesting. I love the friendship recently turned romantic because it adds a really sweet element to the story. They love each other as friends but have recently started to love each other as more. It is such a romantic time in a relationship and I love that this part of a romance was used for this story line. But what is happening in the story makes it even more interesting. You can see how far two people will go to protect each other. The writing is well done and the author clearly has put the time and effort into making this a good story. I would recommend it for teen libraries.
