I honestly picked this up because I loved the TV show called The Last of Us on HBO Max. I got similar apocalyptic feels from this one and while I loved the show, I had never read a book with that kind of a concept.
Definitely need to point out that the cover is absolutely amazing!
I was not disappointed at all! I was fascinated the whole time by the world the author was building in the book. Some of the things that were negative also revealed true nature, so it was thought provoking as well.
It shows how different characters coped with the situation of the world. I was not much interested in some of the side characters as they weren't developed as much as I would want them to be,
I loved the girls' journey throughout and how they managed to come back together. The ending is optimistic and satisfying.
Overall, this was an enjoyable, sweet story. I would recommend this!
