Why do I love zombie stories? To be honest, I don't really know. However, they fascinate me from World War Z (the book, not the movie) to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to Shaun of the Dead....the list goes on. Perhaps it's the juxtaposition of humanity in the face of non-humanity.

I am intrigued by Archer's take on the zombie tale by giving humanity back to the inhuman and the trauma that goes with it. The first chapter with Mara is already rife with emotion and draws the reader in to understand what she is going through. Additionally, I also appreciate the dedication to the "too loud," "too angry" girls.
