The writing is excellent and I was immediately pulled into a story that I never thought would happen. This world feels apocalyptic and I already care about these characters and want to know their backstory as well as what happens next. I can understand both sides--the reason unaffected people don't want the zombies and the reason why zombies like Mara want to be healed and returned to whole selves.
