To say that this is now officially added in my most anticipated 2024 YA releases is an understatement because I just preordered a copy of Hearts Still Beating after reading an eARC from Penguin Teen.
This is surprisingly my jam as it is a sapphic fantasy romance set in a post-apocalyptic world infested with monsters called as Ticks.
I love every bit of it especially how Mara, a cured Tick, navigated the human life after being healed.
It's messy and angsty and oftentimes heartwarming but I just want you to know that every time I remember a scene where Mara yearns for Rory, a year is added in my bookworm life.
I am not the biggest fan of the cover but I get why the elements where there. Do I need more of Mara and Rory? Yes!
I also need this to be adapted as a TV series or full-length film.
