I really enjoyed this First Look! I think the entire concept of a zombie story focusing not just on survival but on rehabilitated zombies is a super interesting and unique one, with a lot of complicated factors to explore. I'm also super intrigued by Mara and Rory's relationship already, where it's clear they both cared about the other so much in the past but they have so much literal death and distrust between them. I also enjoyed the writing style; it flowed pretty quickly while also having some really good description, and I found myself wanting to read more at the end of the excerpt. Overall, I was super drawn into this book!
