A lovely and Well Written Novel
This was an enjoyable read. This book isn't one with too much plot. It's a slice of life, of a woman whose living in Iran during the revolution. It follows her first as a university student, then a wife, a mother and eventually a grandmother. She feels her life change, losing her family, dealing with her husband and his work as a nuclear physicist trying to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and trying to raise children in an increasingly oppressive regime. The chapters are short so its a quick read and her description of food were by far one of my favorite parts of this book. They make your mouth water.
I really enjoyed the character growth the main character goes through and you really feel how all her life experiences made her come into her own.
I wouldn't pick up this book if you're looking for something exciting. But if you're in mood for something meditative and calm, I would definitely recommend.
