The author’s descriptions put one into the time and place of the turmoil of the 1970s in Iran. I admire those who are willing to stand up for what they believe no matter the danger. Alminea will face many difficulties as her relationship grows with Farzad. I think she may be swept along into the politics of the day more than she wants.
