Half a Cup of Sky and Sand by Nadine Bjursten is definitely on the more poetic side of novels. It does have quite a slow start, but I feel as though that's rather common for historical fiction novels. Also, you can instantly see the hints of womanhood that are going to be more fully fleshed out later on in the novel.
