I definitely think the premise of this book holds great promise. Perhaps as the story moves along, it will be easier for me to become invested, should I choose to pick it up. The writing style felt quite stilted, though. I suppose I expected a more lyrical quality to it, based on the synopsis and gushing reviews, and I was disappointed to find a narrative that lacked natural flow.
