So I was on the fence about reading this one- the cover is not immediately appealing, though when I looked at it more in depth I could see the connections to the story. I must confess, I know almost nothing about this time period in Iran, and I do always love learning new things. Amineh seems like she may be both frustrating and very realistic, which I appreciate. She seems to not want to rock the boat too much, which I think a lot of us probably feel, though I can also understand why her reluctance would irk some readers. That said, it seems like a very compelling point in history, and considering that Amineh has lost so much, to me her responses make perfect sense. I think this will be a very eye opening story, and certainly emotive.
