Half a Cup of Sand and Sky - First Impression

I'm not a huge fan of the writing style, but at the same time I know I don't generally read this genre so it's possible that it's a good style to read in this genre. I don't understand quite a few of the words and what they actually mean.

I also don't enjoy the cover style.
