I was excited to receive this new novel by Marsha Gray Hill titled “Grief and Grits” and eagerly began reading it immediately. It most surely did not disappoint. This is a very personal memoir of a time that truly affected the entire world. While each person’s circumstances may have been different it was all too easy to sympathize and find compassion for what Marsha Gray Hill was experiencing. While this could have been a simple rehash of what we all knew and experienced it instead became a very personal journey. Marsha Gray Hill did an excellent job of character development and bringing us thoroughly into the lives of each character. The author has emphasized and highlighted many of the things that led to so many other problems through misunderstandings and miscommunications. Marsha Gray Hill’s memoir was a real gut wrenching read.
