I have conflicting feelings about this books. On one hand it’s a harrowing story about a daughter’s love for her mother. The grief and pain that goes into watching your parents age and die. How hard it is to be a caregiver to someone, especially when they feel like a burden to you, or do not/are not able to explain the pain they are in. This novel is a great retelling g of the author’s mother’s story, and shared in the pain and loss of slowly watching g someone you love die. It is a very touching story. However, the author can be very repetitive, saying the same thing in different words over and over; throughout many different chapters. I feel like this book could have been better (not that it was bad at all) with a little more editing and revision. I also think it would’ve been beneficial to try to write more stories about her mother’s life, or the authors life in general. Overall, this book was decent and had some touching points of how to deal with loss and being a caregiver.
