Wow, the emotions bubbling up in my chest right now are incredible. I haven’t read anything that was able to quite capture the emotions I felt when my mom died until this. I also lost my mom during the pandemic in 2020 and the similarities with the author’s feelings are so striking. This sounds like it will be such an emotional read for me. I appreciate Hill’s natural speech writing style, the reverent tone: hearing her honor her mother by telling her story is beautiful. I can’t wait to read more (and hopefully, experience some catharsis while I’m at it.)
