One of life's toughest trails is the death of one's mother. Of course, we know there are exceptions, such as the memoir with the shocking title ' I'm Glad My Mom Died.' GRIEF AND GRITS, however, truly seems to be written from the heart of someone who is on the other end of the spectrum. The "grits" part of the title gives you a clue that the setting is the American South and "grief" tells you the rest. I appreciate all of the work and emotions it took to put a loving family's Covid pandemic story on paper. For me, the Corona virus pandemic and lockdown just seems so darn recent and so sadly familiar that the book is not for me.
