This is an excellent romance novel, but it is also filled with family drama and some heavier issues such as dealing with an ailing family member. I liked Cam and Willow's relationship arc, it was sigh-worthy in places, yet also challenging and the reader is never completely sure if things can work out for them. There are some surprises throughout, particularly toward the end.
The family dynamics are complicated. Cam is pretty much persona non grata in the town, and has a lot to make up for from the past. His relationship with his father is strained, complicated by his father's diagnosis, and his relationship with his brother is complex as well.
If you're looking for a romance that will also give depth in other ways, this is a wonderful choice.
