Oh boy...My thoughts about this book are sort of all over the place, kind of like the book itself. First of all, let's talk about the setting - a small town in the Colorado mountains. If you expect to see the type of hospitality and closeness you saw in other places, you won't find it here. Townspeople here are mean AF, they will remember every single stupid thing you did when you were a kid and will hold you accountable for it until you die. Now, the characters. First, there is Camden Daniels, who returned home after being away for about 10 years. He is not welcomed by anyone - not the townspeople (see the note above), not his family. He is full of self-loathing and is not entirely happy to be back. Then we have Willow, a girl Camden had a huge crush when they were kids. Willow is always put in situations where she is a damsel in distress and Cam must save her, but because Willow is constantly telling us that she is no damsel in distress, we must view her as a strong and independent woman. B-O-R-I-N-G. Both main characters were extremely annoying to me. The romance and the plot for the last 50 pages or so felt extremely rushed. In the end, everything worked itself out very conveniently.
