There's a lack of believability here that turned me off quickly. Much of it seems to involve dialogue and plot. I lived in military settings around GIs for a good portion of my life, and the author seems like she's trying too hard to make the protagonist seem like a jaded military veteran, and the use of profanity/anger issues didn't seem authentic in this case -- more forced and predictable. Enter the love interest (Willow Bradley seems like a name for a soap opera character), and I think I know exactly where this is going...
