I instantly felt a connection with the characters. Ms. Yarros writes with just the right level of description to pull you into the story and help you feel a part of things without giving you too much information. I already can tell there is a unique history between Camden and Willow and I'm curious how she ended up with his brother. Also, I can see how damaged Camden's family dynamics are with his father and hope that is something that he can mend. It is simply heartbreaking to see how alone he seemed to feel with no one to really turn to.
The book cover is absolutely perfect. I assume it represents his brother's death which appears to be at the center of a lot of the angst in this story, but I suppose it could have other meanings as well.
I look forward to reading the entire book because I've now read just enough to want to read it all!!
