The first impression of Great and Precious Things is an emotional father, son relationship. The guilt that follows Cam for the death of his brother is tremendous and heart-wrenching. His ailing father finds him guilty of the death of his beloved bother, as does most of the town. Willow is Cam's great love, and I hope they can reconnect and find a way to make their relationship work. I can't wait to read the rest of this book. Coming home from the military myself, I found it difficult enough to reacclimate to society. I can't imagine being coming home without a sibling and the guilt that ensues. My heart breaks for these characters.
