An intriguing start, character depth seems rich with potential.

The cover and mention of "heart warming" in the description bring to mind a sort of wholesome family story but this sample has a surprising layer of mystery. The family dynamics seem complex. I imagine there is much more than meets the eye and lots to be revealed. The first person perspective is vivid but the layers of the story seem vaguely developed so far. Seems like a good read but it might be better to know more before investing in the full novel.
