I had really, really high hopes for this book after I read the excerpt. I was disappointed how much the book dragged on in the middle. The beginning and ending of the book were great. It definitely walked a thin line of horror with how graphic some of the scenes were. I don't mind that at all. There was not a lot of suspense to the book or anything that gave me WTH moments or blew my mind away.
Some scenes were unsettling and hard to read. The characters were not easily relatable or likeable. It was a slow read for me. I wish there was more drama, suspense in the book that made it a quicker read. This is my first read by this author. I would say that this isn't a terrible book at all, but I just wish there was a lot more to it. I would like to explore this author, Peter Nichols and his other books. The idea of this book was great, It just fell a little flat to me.
