Unfortunately, I found that this book just wasn't for me.
One of my biggest issues with this book was the pacing--it was too slow for my liking. There were exciting moments, but not enough of them for my tastes. It also didn't help that I found a lot of the transitions between chapters to be choppy, so it was hard to keep track of the timeline.
There were a lot of characters, so it was hard to keep track of them all. Some of the characters also fell flat for me, unfortunately. I also found the conversations between characters to often come off as unrealistic and cheesy to me personally.
I also couldn't really get past the animal cruelty in this book (though I appreciate the trigger warning from the publishers). I do feel that it's skippable--and if that's the case, it makes me wonder if this book really needed it.
I can see what many reader enjoyed this story though. And I hope it continues to find its audience.
