CW: drug use, gore, suicide, child abuse

Granite Harbor is a picturesque Maine town with a living historical settlement. When a local teenager is found deceased and strung up in the settlement, the only detective in town, Alex Brangwen must figure out who the killer is. Isabel is a single mother in the throes of grief that is just struggling to stay afloat. Her son Ethan was best friends with the victim. When a second teenager is found murdered in the same manner, Alex and Isabel must race against the clock in order to save their own kids.

I couldn't put this book down. The author does a great job setting up the mystery and the setting really spooked me. I was able to figure out who did it before the end, which is disappointing, but it was still a good set up. I think both main characters are a little broken, but I'm not sure I believe in one of their abilities. I definitely recommend this if you like thrillers and don't mind some hard topics.
