First things first
there is gratuitous animal harm.A dog dies in an accidental death, which explains some of the plot. There is no need to describe the deaths of toads, fish or Coyotes.

******SKIP CHAPTER 34 to avoid CONTENT PUBLISHER MENTIONS

i enjoyed the writing, the plot, and i was into the story.

The coastal Maine small town of Granite Harbor isn't large, but one of its attractions is The Settlement, an archaeological historic site that employs reenactorss to give tours. One day in one of the structures they find a dead body. A detective comes to town to solve a murder and catch the killer.

FYI Some of the chapters are told from the killers point of view. There are some connections between the characters as it is a small town in the book.

There aresome unusual "tools" that help the detective solve the case. There are also multiple channels in this book.
